Daily Challenge (Day 1)
1.) Describe your character’s relationship with their mother or their father, or both. Was it good? Bad? Were they spoiled rotten, ignored? Do they still get along now, or no?
As i said, i’ll probably post only one of them but i’m planning to do this for all of my characters, since they also help me think of some little details that i wasn’t really sure of.
Spencer:
As a spoiled child, Spencer’s relationship with his family is probably the most important thing that affects his personality and his attitude towards people. They may be a really wealthy and known, old family but they’re not very close. Actually, Spencer basically grew up in the hands of the servants while his father works 24/7, or spends his time with his friends and his affairs and his mother on the other hand was very busy by being a socialite. Both of his parents were spoiling him with their presents and everything but they weren’t really paying attention to him when he was growing up. Even his scandalous nature hasn’t bothered them until some of his actions start to ruin the family reputation. So, he grew up a bit alone, in the middle of all these servants and staff and he had everything but love and appreciation from his parents. He grew up to be a cruel man, a bit selfish and arrogant and started to understand their nature. So he tried to annoy them as much as possible just to get their attention. Of course, after awhile this become very spontaneous and he didn’t really care what they think until his father died. Even this didn’t hurt him like it would hurt but he had to face the cold truths about his lifestyle and responsibilities. (Which is a loong story and i’ll cut it here).
Leon:
Leon’s relationship with his parents’ is a bit complicated because of Leon himself. His own parents (his mother and father and also older brother) died in a car accident when Leon was a little child. Surviving without a scar where his parents died horribly created some kind of trauma and trust issues which continued until the end of high school. He probably loved his family very much but he only remembers some distant memories of them and this situation leads to a distance between Leon and his foster parents. They really love Leon, and Leon really respects them but he’s a bit introvert and can’t bond easily so talking on the phone occasionally, or seeing them 2 months or less in a year seemed perfect for him. He cares for them (he’ll understand how much he loves them when shit hits the fan and war begins) and appreciates everything they did but they can’t be really close to him. No one can, he thinks, but we know it’s not true. They’d love to see him more often, but even with this distance they treat Leon as if he’s their own son and worry for him.
Isaac:
Isaac’s relationship with his parents is probably one of the easiest things to write. Normally, i love a little drama but no, he’s just a normal person. His parents were a bit workaholic when he was growing up but they were also very supportive and trying to create time with Isaac. His relationship with his parents was always good so when he found out he’s a wizard and went to Hogwarts he missed them (Yere a wizard Harry-yes it’s HP roleplay). They always felt that they’re not really involved in their sons life, since they don’t anything about magic (both muggles). So they tried to connect more often and keep in touch. After graduation, they bought the apartment where Isaac now lives and respected all of this choices. His mother may be a bit more involved with Isaac’s life, but both of them love to have him around when he has time and now Isaac tries to create time for them and always attends family dinners and everything. Yeah, a bit dull maybe but he has other kinds of drama to deal with.
